Glutathione-Your body’s natural detoxifier

Glutathione is naturally produced by the liver and it is found in foods like vegetables, fruits and meats. Glutathione has many beneficial uses and is helpful in treating a wide range of diseases and health issues. However, it is not well known so its benefits are largely ignored. I feel this is a big mistake and want to make this simple (but powerful) natural molecule a household name like its competitors: Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Betacarotene and EDTA. Combining Glutathione with EDTA creates possibly the most effective detoxification product combination currently in use.

Glutathione is considered your body’s “Master Anti-oxidant” as it binds with free radicals to relieve oxidative stress on your system. It is formed from the combination of three amino acids: glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine. In addition, Glutathione helps to regenerate other anti-oxidants like Vitamin C and Vitamin D, which have become unstable after removing free radicals, making them viable again. In addition to being a powerful anti-oxidant Glutathione is also an excellent detoxifier. It binds with a wide range of toxins and pollutants including plasticizers, petroleum, chemicals, toxic heavy metals, fluoride and much more. Glutathione is found in greater quantities in your liver and kidneys, primary pathways of detoxification, where it binds with toxins so they can be removed from your body. “Glutathione is one of the twenty amino acids that make up what’s called our standard ‘genetic code’ – the set of rules that the genetic material (DNA and RNA) follow to create proteins for use by the cells in our body”.

Besides being produced naturally in your body, Glutathione is found in a variety of foods, particularly fruits, vegetables, and meats. Foods rich in glutathione include spinach, asparagus, garlic, avocado, strawberries, squash, zucchini, potatoes, melons, grapefruit and peaches. Some foods contain other compounds which trigger the body’s production of glutathione. Glutathione is now manufactured in different forms including oral supplements, inhalations, administered in an I.V., combined with EDTA in suppositories, and creams. All of these are great additions to the Glutathione that your body produces naturally.

What diseases does Glutathione help to prevent or alleviate?

Glutathione is inhaled to help treat lung disease, cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary fibrosis. Glutathione is given orally to help treat glaucoma, cataracts, alcoholism, asthma, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, chronic fatigue, memory loss, anti-aging, diseases that weaken the body’s defense system (including AIDS and chronic fatigue syndrome), and osteoarthritis. Glutathione I.V.’s are placed to prevent kidney problems after bypass surgery, increase blood flow, reverse “hardening of the arteries”, diabetes and the toxic effects of chemotherapy. It is also effective for maintaining your body’s immune system and fighting drug poisoning. Glutathione is also used for maintaining the body’s defense system (immune system) and fighting metal and drug poisoning.

As you can see, Glutathione is extremely beneficial as an anti-oxidant, detoxifier and disease prevention. We carry an excellent product that contains both EDTA and Glutathione that we have had excellent success with: Xeneplex. Xeneplex contains a healthy dosage of Glutathione and EDTA so it is extremely effective at removing a wide range of toxins including heavy metals, plasticizers, petroleum, chemicals and fluoride. As a suppository the ingredients will go directly into the circulatory system via the hemmoroidal veins, which bypass the liver and kidneys on first pass metabolism. This allows the Glutathione and EDTA to stay in the body up to four times longer than from an I.V.
