Carpet: More toxic than you imagine. Can EDTA Chelation help?

home-3

Carpeting has been used in homes and businesses for quite a long time. Carpet covers the majority of floors in the U.S. but even though it has been in use for a long time and is extremely wide spread that definetly does not mean that it is safe. Actually it is quite the opposite. Whether it is new or old carpet is toxic and quite dangerous to humans.

The vast majority of carpet is made with synthetic materials and contains many toxic elements which include VOC’s(Volatile Organic Compounds), benzene, formaldehyde, ethyl benzene, styrene, acetone, polybrominated diphenyl ether, and many others. All of these chemicals are highly toxic and many are known carcinogens that may also cause respiratory illness, hallucinations and nerve damage.

Many of these chemicals are “out gassed” from the carpet and will be inhaled by people in the room like children crawling on the carpet. Since most places where carpet is used is indoors and in enclosed places these chemicals can become fairly concentrated. These chemicals will be absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the lungs where they will begin the cause health problems. If you have ever felt queasy or light headed while in a room with new carpet this is probably why. Absorption through the skin when people walk across or lie on carpet, while not as direct a route as breathing in the toxins, skin is highly absorbant so many of the chemicals will make their way into your body. If you have ever felt queasy or light headed while in a room with new carpet this is probably why.

*Chemicals are “out gassed” where they will breathed in and absorbed into your body
*Chemicals can be absorbed through the skin as well
*These toxic chemicals can cause serious health issues including neurological and respiratory problems

New carpeting also contains several other compounds that are harmful to humans and these include fire retardants, adhesives, stain protectors and moth proofing. Fire retardants contain polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) which have been reported to cause nervous and reproductive issues even at low concentrations. Moth proofing compounds can also cause serious health effects.
Just because carpet has been worn down and is old it is still dangerous. Chemicals in old carpet will still “out gas” plus it will contain dust, mites, dirt, pesticides, toxic heavy metals and other toxins imported on shoes and dirty feet. Also chemicals from insect sprays and carpet cleaners will also settle into the carpet where they can be breathed in or absorbed into your skin.

What can you do about this serious health issue?

Remove the carpet from your house and your place of business if possible. If that is not possible use a high quality vacuum on a consistent basis and use only natural, biodegradable cleaning products. Take your shoes off before entering a carpeted room so you do not track more chemicals and toxins into the room. This will help with absorbing more toxins into your body.

What can you do about this serious health issue?

You need to remove as many of these toxins as possible from your body. The easiest way to remove a wide range of toxins and toxic heavy metals from your body is with EDTA Chelation. EDTA removes a wide range of toxic heavy metals and when you remove these heavy metals other toxins will follow as well. The most effective EDTA Chelation product on the market right now is KelaminHM EDTA suppositories. The EDTA in KelaminHM EDTA suppositories is absorbed directly into the blood stream where it will stay in your body up to 4 times longer than EDTA from an IV. Also the EDTA from KelaminHM in over 95% absorbed as compared to 5-10% for Oral EDTA products.
