EDTA is the most effective Chelator on the market today. EDTA binds with and removes the widest range of toxic heavy metals including Mercury, Lead, Aluminum, and Iron. EDTA is also has a very low toxicity level and is on the FDA’s GRAS (generally regarded as safe) list. But there is more than one way to receive Chelation Therapy with EDTA including I.V. sessions, Oral EDTA products and Suppository EDTA products. But which one is the most effective? I will go through each one and detail the benefits and drawbacks of each one.

*I.V. EDTA has been in use since the late 1940’s and has helped millions of people around the world remove toxic heavy metals and improve their health. I.V. EDTA has several benefits but it also has definite drawbacks. I.V. EDTA infusions deliver 1-3 grams of EDTA directly into your blood stream. But an I.V. generally takes about 3 hours to deliver and must be administered in a Doctor’s office. Also blood tests are needed to determine if your kidneys and liver are functioning properly which adds greatly to the cost.

*Oral EDTA products are relatively new to the market but they have grown in popularity mainly due to their low cost. The issue with taking EDTA orally is that EDTA is a synthetic and needs to remain whole to be effective. When taken orally over 95% of EDTA is broken down in the digestive tract so only 5% survives to be utilized. This makes Oral EDTA products inexpensive but also highly ineffective.

*Suppository EDTA products are the latest entry to the EDTA marketplace but they have turned out to be the best. EDTA from a suppository is absorbed directly into the circulatory system via the hemorrhoidal veins. The hemorrhoidal veins bypass the liver and kidneys on first pass metabolism and will be excreted out on the second pass. This means that the EDTA stays in your system 4 times longer than EDTA from an I.V. plus you don’t need expensive blood tests since the dosage is much lower. Also over 95% of the EDTA is directly absorbed into the blood stream making suppositories much more effective and less expensive than both I.V. and Oral EDTA products.

EDTA is by far the safest and most effective toxic heavy metal chelator on the market today. EDTA has helped to detoxify and improve the lives of millions of people around the world. There are a few different ways to receive EDTA chelation but we feel that EDTA from a suppository is by far the safest and most effective way to receive EDTA chelation. Below is a chart that will clarify what has been stated above.
